With that being said, as an instructional leader, my vision for improving student achievement is to help create an environment where high standards for all students and staff members are valued daily. High quality professional development is offered and implemented throughout the school year. All learning environments are safe and disciplined for all students, staff members, and all stakeholders. Most importantly, I want to make sure that the district has a solid foundation for learning†¦show more content†¦Leading indicators are used to help guide a school to know what to work on in order to achieve a high reliability level, based off of concrete evidence. While, lagging indicators are usually seen in areas where there is a general agreement that the school is not meeting the districts expectations. Evidence is provided and the school is able to give validation to its achievement of high reliability level. In other words proof is provided to all stakeholders. This leads into the concept of Professional Learning communities (PLC). PLCs are the critical commitment for High Reliability Schools due to the collaborative learning that takes place amount all staff members with in the district. The collaborative approach of PLCs helps to organize staff members 5 into professional learning groups where collaboration takes place. PLCs are considered a Level 1 out of 5 levels based on the 5 level of operation for a High Performing School. Professional Learning Communities is considered a level 1. Administration can structure the groups to make possible successful implementation of a variety of the leading indicators for Level 1. During collaboration Professional Learning Communities can process change to the ba sic dynamic of leadership within a school, allowing school leaders to have a more efficient and direct impact on what occurs in the classroom. Societies Death The main objective of this course is to create meta-level questions about the courses students are learning about. This course about death puts students into the perspective of how death is surrounded by them everywhere they go, in the book Daytripper the main character admits â€Å"He just realized that even when he’s not writing about it people will keep dying† (2-3). Another problem that’s faced by international students is their financial instability. Moving from one country to another isn’t an easy transition, and having to adjust to a new currency can be very challenging. Not only that, but also paying for tuition fees and accommodation as well as a daily allowance. Now that tuition fees have increased 20% between 2011 and 2012, it’s difficult for many students to manage and budget their money (Adams, 2013). It is possible that a lot of the students are coming from developing countries and the GBP is very high compared to their currencies back home. A small amount of money in England could be a large amount for an international student. Not only that but also there are many students who have never had to pay taxes in their own countries and are asked to do so in the UK, meaning they have to adjust to having to pay more money than they usually do for the same item they usually buy. A student might think that getting a bank loan or credit card is the way to solve any financial issue, but in fact it does the exact opposite and the student could be in debt for a very long time. The United Kingdom is well known for it’s excellent reputation when it comes to education and that’s why it’s a lot of international student’s first choice. Moving away from their hometowns to study in the UK can be a wonderful opportunity, yet a challenging experience all at the same time. There are numerous problems that they face as it differs from one student. Other than the obvious language barriers, they may experience culture shock as they may be coming from countries on the other side of the world. They may also experience homesickness, and financial problems. Nevertheless it’s possible to find solutions to these difficulties and to adjust to these following problems and enjoying a wonderful education experience abroad.
